Andy is an active member of the Honolulu Wood turners where he has served as Vice President, President, and currently serves as Treasurer. The club has grown to about one hundred members, and meets every other month. A highlight of the club is the annual Honolulu Symposium which draws attendees from around the state, and the mainland.
The club is a chapter of the American Association of Wood turners (AAW) with about sixteen thousand members world wide. The association sponsors a symposium which draws a couple thousand attendees annually. The symposium is held at different locations around the country, and is always a stellar event.
Andy serves on the Professional Outreach Program (POP) committee and has also been recently elected to the AAW board of directors beginning in January, 2019.
